Sell Your Car Without a Broker

Sell your used car directly to a verified buyer. No broker, no commission, no haggling through a middleman. Here's the whole process, start to finish.

A car being handed over directly from one owner to another, with no broker in between

Most "owner sale" ads in India are not owner sales. You call about a car, an agent picks up, and the price you are quoted already has his cut inside it. The seller never sees that money, and neither do you.

Selling direct removes that gap. This guide covers how to do it — what to prepare, what to watch for, and how NoCom verifies that the person on the other side is real.

Why brokers cost you more than you think

A broker is not paid for introducing you to a buyer. He is paid out of the difference between what you accept and what the buyer pays.

There is a second cost that is harder to see. Because one car gets posted by five different agents, buyers stop believing any listing is genuine, so everyone's car takes longer to sell.

What you need before you list

Get these together first. It takes ten minutes and saves a week of back and forth later.

0 of 6 ready

You do not need to upload most of this to list. You need it at handover, and buyers will ask about it before they travel to see the car.

Sell on NoCom in 4 steps

    1. Sign up with your phone. One OTP. You can browse first — an account is only needed to list or to contact an owner.
    2. Enter your RC number. We pull the official record from the RTO, so the make, model, year, fuel and engine fill themselves in. Nothing to type and nothing to get wrong.
    3. Add photos and your price. Any four photos is the minimum. Daylight, all four corners, and the odometer sell a car faster than a studio shot.
    4. Verify and publish. A one-time Aadhaar check confirms your legal name, and we match it against the registered owner on the RC. Match, and your car is live.

The verification happens at the end, not the start. You can fill everything in and see your listing before you are asked to prove who you are.

Pricing it so it actually sells

Look at what comparable cars are listed at, then remember that listed is not sold. A car priced 5% under the cluster of similar listings tends to move in days rather than months.

Be straight about condition in the description. A declared scratch costs you nothing; an undeclared one costs you the sale when the buyer is standing in front of it.

Meeting the buyer safely

  • Meet in daylight, somewhere public, with another person if you can.
  • Let them inspect it properly and take a test drive with you present.
  • Check their licence before the test drive.
  • Never hand over the RC or keys before the money has actually cleared.

After the sale

File the transfer with the RTO and keep the acknowledgement. Cancel or transfer the insurance. Mark the listing sold on NoCom so you stop getting calls about it.

Questions.

No. Listing is free and NoCom never takes a cut of the sale. You keep the full price you agree with the buyer. Buyers pay a small one-day pass to unlock owner contacts, which is how the platform is funded.

Only to confirm you are a real person and to read your legal name, which we match against the registered owner on the RC. That match is the reason brokers cannot operate here. The Aadhaar number itself is used for the lookup and is never stored.

The name matcher handles initials, reversed word order, titles and S/O, D/O and W/O suffixes. If it still cannot match, the listing goes to manual review rather than being rejected outright. A car registered to someone else has to be listed from their account, or transferred first.

As soon as the RC owner name matches your verified name. There is no approval queue in between. Only a mismatch is held back for a human to look at.
